Library and Information Center


The library was founded and first operated in September 1988, which was the first academic year of the University of Thessaly. Since 1990, when the Folklore Center of Kitsos Makris was also donated to the Library, the Library has been increases the number of its services and branches, an evolutionary process that follows proportionally the development of its parent institution. Thus, today it allocates 6 branches in cities of the Thessaly region (Volos, Larissa, Trikala, Karditsa). In 2005 the Library moves in the New Central Library Building and changed its name to "Library & Information Centre" .  All Erasmus students can be members of the University Library free of charge, depositing one photo, their identity card or passport and their UTH student card.
