1. TEACHING LANGUAGE
The official language of instruction in the University of Thessaly is Greek. However, in numerous cases Erasmus+ exchange students are facilited in their academic work by getting bibliography, tutoring, exams, etc. in English. They are given tutoring courses and private study load in English as well as projects and assignments. In some instances, exams may also be given in English. This means that all applicants should be at least B1 level users in both written and spoken English. This requirement does not apply to students who are qualified to carry out their studies in Greek.
2. COURSES IN ENGLISH AND LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
The University of Thessaly also offers courses in English. Since the academic year 2017-18, there is a list of all available courses per Department taught in English. The list is updated at the beginning of each academic year. Our priority is to multiply the courses taught in English in the University of Thessaly in the following years.

Incoming students can get information concerning any academic issue, on the Department’s website. For specific information that is not mentioned in the site, the student should address the Erasmus Academic Coordinator of the relevant Department.
International students wishing to apply to the University of Thessaly, must be able to demonstrate their competence in written and spoken English in order to benefit fully from their course of study. As an exchange student, you are expected to actively participate in class discussions as well as study works and projects. You must also be able to write academic papers and take written exams. The accepted international language qualifications are the following.
3. GREEK LANGUAGE COURSES
The University of Thessaly offers Greek language courses to all Erasmus and international Students every academic year.
The courses have no tuition and they can be included in the Learning Agreement (3 ECTS).

Students are required to have B1 level knowledge of English. As proof of English knowledge, all certificates obtained by examination from a CEFR- validated English language course.
