The Drama club of the University of Thessaly has started meeting. Anyone interested can attend the meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, at 21.00, in room M at the Seafront Complex Building of the University of Thessaly.

The International Relations Office of the University of Thessaly would like to welcome its winter semester incoming students. The Welcome Day will be on Monday, October 11, at 12:00, in Room B1 (2nd floor) of the Department of Economics, 28is Oktovriou 76-78 Str., Volos 383 33 (Matsaggou Building).

The Greek courses start on October 27 for the students in Volos and on October 26 for the students in Larisa, Trikala and Karditsa.

07/11/2020 - New Nationwide Lockdown
The Greek Prime Minister has announced a new three-week nationwide lockdown to help contain a resurgence of Covid-19, starting on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 06:00.
Everyone needs to have a permit to go outdoors at allocated times, since all unnecessary movements are banned. Retail businesses will be shut with the exception of supermarkets and pharmacies.
Movements of citizens to serve their needs that cannot be otherwise met are permitted only for the following reasons:
Everyone must have their ID or passport along with a completed movement certificate (saved as PDF, printed or handwritten) or a confirmation SMS at each movement to show in case of a check.
1. The document “Extraordinary Movement Permit” printed is signed by the individual and includes the name, date of birth, home address, and time of departure of the individual, as well as the specific reason of the move and / or transportation.

2. You can send an SMS text message from your mobile phone number to 13033, free of charge
The SMS text message must be in the following format:
X [blank] full name [blank] home address
You will receive the following text back:
Transportation [blank] X [blank] full name and home address.
3. Handwritten Form
The handwritten form must contain the following information:
Measures
– Mandatory use of masks in all public spaces (indoors and outdoors).
– Night curfew from midnight to 5 am *except for emergency health reasons to hospitals and pharmacies and for work
– Suspension of the operation of restaurants (excluding delivery and take away services).
– Suspension of the operation of cafes, bars, cinemas, museums and theaters.
– Suspension of the operation of indoor gyms.
Traveling is allowed from one region to another.
It should be mentioned that retail shops, hotels, outdoor archaeological sites and hairdressers' will remain open.
On Saturday the Greek Prime Minister announced new month-long measures for the whole country. According to these measures, Karditsa & Lamia are now in the yellow zone and new measures will be in force as of 6 am Tuesday, November 3.
Measures
– Mandatory use of masks in all public spaces (indoors and outdoors).
– Night curfew from midnight to 5 am *except for emergency health reasons to hospitals and pharmacies and for work
– Mandatory distance mode work for 50% of the employees in the private and public sector
– University lessons will take place only via distance learning mode *except clinics and some graduate courses
– All public gatherings are banned
Traveling is allowed from one region to another.
It should be mentioned that retail shops, hotels, outdoor archaeological sites and hairdressers' will remain open.
In restaurants and cafes the use of face masks is mandatory by both the staff and the visitors while they wait. Up to 6 people per table.
